MLW & WXW Working Together For Battle Riot V

Title match set for MLW Battle Riot V

Major League Wrestling will have support from another promotion at their upcoming Battle Riot V show from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

MLW have announced that Shigehiro Irie will defend the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship against Calvin Tankman at Battle Riot V. The show will be held on Saturday, April 8.

Irie has been wXw's top champion since winning 16 Carat Gold on March 12. The Japanese star defeated Axel Tischer in the final.

MLW Founder Court Bauer said about the match: "wXw is Germany's preeminent promotion and we are delighted to build this bridge for fans, wrestlers and the sport as we embark on this inter-promotional collaboration."

MLW and wXw have worked together sporadically since 2018.

Other matches already announced for Battle Riot V are Alexander Hammerstone vs. Real1 for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, and the Battle Riot for a future shot at the MLW World Heavyweight Title.

The Battle Riot Match is set to air on REELZ in the United States on Tuesday, April 25. MLW's long-term future with the station remains up in the air.
