More Details on John Laurinaitis' New WWE Role Reportedly Emerge

He previously held the role from 2004-2012

John Laurinaitis has reportedly been given the WWE General Manager of Talent because of the nature of his relationship with Vince McMahon.

It was reported earlier this week that Laurinaitis, who was the Head Of Talent Relations between 2004-2012 for WWE, had returned to an equivalent position after almost nine years back as a road agent.

The 58-year-old's new role led to questions about the future of Mark Carrano, who has been working as WWE's Head Of Talent Relations, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Carrano will now report into Laurinaitis, who will be the boss of both him and a Head Of Talent Branding - a position that is yet to be filled.

Meltzer goes on to suggest that Laurinaitis has been described as someone who won't challenge WWE Chairman McMahon and, similar to Executive Director of Raw and Smackdown Bruce Pritchard, will tell the boss that 'everything is great'.

Meltzer also notes that this new strategy is a complete switch from the Vince McMahon of the past, who would prefer to surround himself with people who would tell him the brutal truth, but as of right now the WWE Chairman is being fed the idea that the company is thriving.
