Multiple Former-NXT Stars Make AEW Dark Debut
Some new faces on AEW Dark
AEW held their latest set of Dark tapings over the weekend, with some notable names wrestling at the sessions.
Recently released WWE Producer Ariya Daivari made his return to AEW, now going under the alias Ari Daivari and portraying a trust-fund rich kid. Ari enlisted former ROH wrestler Slim J who was ringside for Ari’s win over Blake Christian, with Ari revealing to Tony Schiavone that he has purchased Slim J’s contract.
Later in the tapings, former NXT 2.0 star Parker Boudreaux (fka Harland) made his surprised debut for AEW, defeating Serpentico, with Daivari and Slim J accompanying him for the bout. The trio are being referred to as the Trust Busters, with Dave Meltzer claiming that Tony Khan is ‘high on the idea’ of the gimmick, although it has not been revealed if they are to continue in AEW or on the revamped Ring of Honor.
Elsewhere on Dark, Cole Karter was in action, having recently performed on NXT 2.0 as Troy ‘Two Dimes’ Donovan.
