Multiple Matches Scrapped On WWE Raw

A "crazy" day backstage

Multiple advertised matches did not take place on the August 30 edition of Monday Night Raw.

WWE announced last week that Bobby Lashley vs. Sheamus, Doudrop vs. Eva Marie and John Morrison vs. The Miz would be on the August 30 show from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The matches were pulled from the Raw preview ahead of airtime, though, and none of the matches took place.

Instead of Lashley vs. Sheamus, The Celtic Warrior challenged Damian Priest for the United States Title in a Triple Threat Match that also featured Drew McIntyre.

WWE also initially teased that John Morrison would be facing The Miz but the two-time WWE Champion ran off to avoid facing his former tag team partner. Johnny Drip Drip would then request a match against Omos and he would be promptly squashed by AJ Styles' Personal Colossus.

Eva Marie vs. Doudrop also did not take place. The two competitors met in the ring but Doudrop attacked Marie before the bell and the official ruled that the 36-year-old was unable to perform.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE switched around many of their plans for the August 30 show and it was said to be a "crazy" day backstage ahead of the episode going on the air.

WWE changing up their plans was a common occurrence during the COVID-19 pandemic but rewrites appeared to have become less chaotic since the company went back on the road in July.
