Last night’s May 16 episode of Friday Night SmackDown kicked off the build to WWE’s two Money In The Bank ladder matches at the namesake premium live event, which takes place on June 7 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Both qualifying matches for the men’s and women’s ladder matches took place, with multiple names securing their spot in the yearly bout for a guaranteed match at a world title.

Firstly, Alexa Bliss picked up a win over both Michin and Chelsea Green, earning a place in the match. Bliss is a former winner of the Money In The Bank contract, and this will mark her first PLE match since Elimination Chamber 2025. Big plans may be set for Bliss in the coming months, with reports emerging that she is potentially planned to be the leader of the Wyatt Sicks whenever the group returns.

Over on the men’s side, Solo Sikoa won the match, beating the pairing of Rey Fenix and Jimmy Uso in a triple threat contest. This marks Sikoa’s very first appearance in a Money In The Bank match.

WWE have announced more matches for the SmackDown side for next week’s show - Charlotte Flair vs. Giulia vs. Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega, and LA Knight vs. Aleister Black vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
