MVP Brock Lesnar

MVP returned to WWE on Sunday during the Men's Royal Rumble match. Unfortunately for The Franchise Playa, he entered at #12 and only lasted 24 seconds after going toe to toe with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.

Porter then appeared on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, where he was defeated by Rey Mysterio after taking a 619 to the back.

Following the match, many fans wondered if MVP was sticking around for a longer stint with the company or if he was just doing a couple of shows. Now,

the former United States Champion has confirmed on Instagram

that he competed in his final WWE match on Monday and plans to retire from professional wrestling soon.

He wrote: "One for the history books. My FINAL WWE match took place on Monday Night RAW against my close friend and legend @619iamlucha A great way to close out that chapter. The end of my career looms larger every month. It's been one HELL of a ride! I'm not finished just yet. But soon. Very soon. Thank you @wwe and the #wweuniverse for all the love!!! What an amazing week I've had."
