When WWE announced the 2025 King & Queen Of The Ring brackets, there was an interesting free spot left open on the men’s division side. The first rounds for both tournaments have been made up of fatal four way matches featuring a whole host of talent, and the RAW bracket for the men’s division lined up a match involving Sheamus, Rusev & Bronson Reed, with what was billed as a mystery fourth competitor.
RAW’s General Manager Adam Pearce took to social media yesterday to reveal who this mystery man was… former World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Given that Uso was still the reigning world champion on the RAW brand when the brackets were first revealed, it certainly is a surprise involvement, but not one that many were hoping for given the speculations of surprise debuts, returns or NXT call-ups.
Uso dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther on Monday Night RAW this past week, getting choked out in a shocking moment that stunned the audience. It was revealed in the aftermath that WWE decided to make this title switch to make the planned Gunther vs. Goldberg retirement match for the world title, heightening the stakes.
