Gunther Wins WWE World Heavyweight Title On Raw

Gunther became a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion when he defeated Jey Uso in the main event of the June 9 edition of Raw.

Der Ring General met Main Event Jey in a rematch from WrestleMania 41 in last night's headliner. At 'Mania, Gunther dropped the title to Uso, ending his first reign at 258 days.

Gunther ended Jey's reign at 51 days after making him pass out to the sleeper. Uso initially slipped out of the sleeper and applied his own, but Gunther reversed that and Jey could not escape, despite attempting to fight out of it.

Gunther had confronted Uso backstage prior to Uso's defence against Logan Paul at Saturday Night's Main Event (on May 24) and warned him he would challenge the winner of that match on the June 9 episode of Raw.

Gunther signed a new WWE deal in late 2024. One of the perks of his new deal included WWE providing him with his own private bus for travelling. Jey Uso, meanwhile, recently said that he believes he is near the end of his career and only has a 'couple of years' left in the ring.
