Name Change Official For New Bloodline Member

WWE have changed the name of a Bloodline member

In the Vince McMahon era of WWE, it became more and more commonplace for the company to change up ring names, even for those who made a career from their previous name on the independent scene, in other promotions, or even in NXT. Since Triple H took over creative control, this has been less so the case, with the likes of Jade Cargill, Dragon Lee, Shawn Spears, and Tama Tonga retaining their non-WWE names when signing. Additionally, the likes of Pete Dunne were given back their own old names too, after previously being changed.

One of WWE’s newest roster members has received a name change, though it is a very minor one. After debuting at WWE Backlash France 2024, “Tanga Loa” was introduced as the newest member of The Bloodline, standing alongside Solo Sikoa and his own brother Tama Tonga. On last night’s SmackDown, it was revealed that he would now be going as “Tonga Loa”. Upon debuting, WWE trademarked both “Tanga Loa” and “Tonga Loa”.

With his brother being billed as Tama Tonga, retaining the “Tonga” moniker in both names provides some consistency and connection.
