Naomi Abandons Trademark For In-Ring Name

'Trinity Starr' won't be coming to a ring near you

Trinity Fatu (FKA Naomi in WWE) seemingly won't be using 'Trinity Starr' as her in-ring name as the former SmackDown Women's Champion abandoned her application to trademark the term on April 15.

Fatu originally filed to trademark 'Trinity Starr' with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on March 20 for the purposes of merchandise and professional wrestling matches.

Naomi is currently a free agent following her exit from WWE. She has not appeared on WWE programming since she and Mercedes Moné (FKA Sasha Banks) walked out of a May 2022 taping of Monday Night Raw over a creative dispute with Vince McMahon. Moné has since turned up in New Japan Pro-Wrestling/STARDOM and reports have suggested NJPW were offered the chance to bring in Naomi but turned down the opportunity due to budget restrictions.

Naomi has attended NJPW shows to support Moné and she has also recently been spotted at ROH Supercard of Honor and GCW Scene of the Crime.

WWE were said to be interested in re-signing Fatu as well but the company is currently in the middle of a hiring freeze that has stopped them from bringing in anyone for the main roster in 2023.
