Naomi Signs With SmackDown, Two WWE Main Roster Call Ups Take Place

There are a lot of free agents being snapped up by SmackDown

After several surprise appearances took place at last week’s WWE Royal Rumble event, it is officially contract season with both Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis looking to acquire some new call-ups from NXT and some top free agents.

On SmackDown last night, it was officially revealed that the returning Naomi had officially signed a contract with the blue brand. She emerged at the number two position in the Royal Rumble after spending two years away from WWE, in which time she became the TNA Knockouts World Champion.

General Manager Nick Aldis also managed to procure another signing for SmackDown in the form of NXT’s Tiffany Stratton, who appeared backstage to mark her official main roster call up. This follows on from news this week that WWE were planning to bring her to the main roster. She wasn’t the only former NXT Champion backstage, as Bron Breakker was shown looking over a contract, though it wasn’t revealed which brand he’d sign with just yet.

To wrap things up on the free agent front, Jade Cargill was also backstage for a segment on SmackDown where she confronted both Aldis & Pearce, who were in Aldis’ office. She was there to hold a meeting with Aldis, though much like Breakker, her brand wasn’t determined.
