Bayley Vs. Iyo Sky Made Official For WWE WrestleMania 40

Amidst all the news of men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes losing out on his main event match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, the decision of the women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley has gone somewhat under the radar. Either way, Bayley made her big decision on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown too. 

The tensions within the Damage CTRL faction have been building for several months, with Bayley being gradually forced out by the other members including Iyo Sky, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai. This has all led to Bayley choosing to face WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 40, rather than Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.

Bayley officially departed Damage CTRL after revealing that she wasn’t oblivious to the other members of the group talking behind her back and steadily turning their backs on her. She discussed their history and success originally, and how the arrival of the Kabuki Warriors in the group led to their downfall as a strong-bonded unit. The members of Damage CTRL went to attack Bayley, but she managed to fight them off, setting her sights firmly on WrestleMania where she will have her first ever singles match on the show.
