We've seen many sports stars make the transition to the sports entertainment world of WWE. Some of those famous faces have been a success, while others just weren't cut out for the rough and tumble life inside the squared circle.
The latest big name who has shown a desire to lace up a pair of those fabled wrestling boots is NBA star, Enes Kanter.
The Portland Trailblazers man is serious about giving WWE a shot and is even hoping to score a meeting with Vince McMahon himself.
Here's what the former Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks player said on the matter during an interview with
Hoops Rumors:“I’m very serious about (a pro wrestling career). I feel like it’s my world. You just got to go out there, talk trash, troll people. Lifting, I love lifting. It’s just fun, man. I don’t want to stop my sports career when I’m done with basketball. A lot of people go into broadcasting, coaching, but I want to continue opening the door in sports. That’s why I’m very serious about it.
“I’m already in contact with Paul Heyman and some of the wrestlers,” Kanter added
.
“I’m actually trying to meet with Vince McMahon.”
Kanter recently appeared on WWE's YouTube channel, scoring a pinfall victory over Curt Hawkins.
