New Champions Crowned On AEW Collision

A new tag team won gold last night on AEW Collision

There were new champions crowned on AEW Collision’s August 17 episode last night on what is AEW’s last night of their six week Arlington, Texas residency in the Esports Stadium.

Sammy Guevara recently arrived in Ring Of Honor after spending months away from the ring following a suspension received after a match with Jeff Hardy earlier this year, which saw Guevara continue hitting moves on a concussed Hardy. In recent weeks he has struck up an alliance with Dustin Rhodes, and the pair have pursued the ROH World Tag Team Championships.

Last night on Collision, they got a shot at Matt Taven & Mike Bennett of the Undisputed Kingdom… and the pair came out victorious. During the match, Roderick Strong of the Undisputed Kingdom and new ally The Beast Mortos emerged to interfere, but they were thwarted by The Von Erichs duo of Marshall & Ross, who have been taken under the wing of Rhodes since their arrival in the promotion. This is just the second ever match in which Guevara and Rhodes have teamed together. This win makes Rhodes a double champion in ROH, as he and the Von Erichs are also ROH World Six-Man Champions.
