New Champions Crowned On WWE Raw

WWE Raw title change to end the year

The final live edition of Monday Night Raw in 2023 featured a title change.

WWE headed to the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa on Monday, December 18 and the show saw Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defeat Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to become the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. Kayden Carter and Katana Chance picked up the win after hitting Chelsea Green with their Afterparty finisher.

Following the match, Carter and Chance celebrated with Kofi Claus (Kofi Kingston in a Santa suit) before new challengers in Natalya & Tegan Nox and Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark made it clear they were coming for the titles.

Chance and Carter became the number one contenders following a win over Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell last week.

The loss on December 18 ended Chelsea Green's reign as a WWE Women's Tag Team Champion after 154 days. She initially won the gold with Sonya Deville but Green had to find a new tag team partner after Deville sustained a torn ACL. Piper Niven then proclaimed herself to be Green's new tag team partner in August as a continuation of the original reign.

Things won't be all bad for Chelsea Green, though, and she is reportedly in line for a big push following WrestleMania 40
