ROH To Introduce New Championship

ROH are set to introduce a new title belt.

There will be a new prize for Ring of Honor's female stars to fight over in the future.

During the most recent set of ROH TV tapings on December 16, ROH owner Tony Khan came out to address the live crowd and unveiled a new ROH Women's TV Championship belt.

Khan did not reveal how an inaugural champion will be determined. The title will be the seventh up for grabs in ROH and the second that is exclusive to the women's roster.

Athena defeated Billie Starkz to retain her ROH World Women's Championship in the main event of Final Battle on December 15 - the day before Khan announced the Women's TV Championship - in a critically lauded match. Athena won the title at Final Battle 2022 and has now held it for 372 days and counting.

While Tony Khan is clearly committed to the Ring of Honor product, Eric Bischoff recently stated his belief that AEW's sister promotion should be put out of its 'misery'.

In other ROH title news, Khan is considering stripping MJF and Adam Cole of the ROH World Tag Team Titles, owing to Cole's ankle injury.
