Tony Khan Considering Stripping MJF & Adam Cole Of ROH World Tag Team Titles

MJF and Adam Cole might be stripped of ROH World Tag Team Titles

Ring of Honor might soon have new tag team champions.

MJF and Adam Cole have been ROH World Tag Team Champions since defeating Aussie Open at All In on August 27. The pair have only defended the belts once as a tag team, though, due to Adam Cole sustaining a serious ankle injury at Dynamite Grand Slam that has kept him on the shelf ever since.

There is still no word on when Cole will make his in-ring return, with MJF defending the belts on his own in handicap matches or alongside Samoa Joe, as was the case at Full Gear against The Gunns.

This has somewhat left the ROH World Tag Team Championships in limbo and Tony Khan admitted during the pre-ROH Final Battle media call that he is considering stripping MJF and Adam Cole of the titles.

"That's definitely something to look at at some point. It's something MJF said was important to him and Cole, was to try and maintain the belts to when Cole gets back. Obviously, it's been a long road to recovery from a bad injury, but we're all excited about having Adam Cole back in AEW as soon as he can come back. They are a great tag team for any company and certainly have been a huge part of AEW this year and a big success for us. With Adam Cole and MJF being champions, I think certainly that is something to consider," said Khan.

Tony Khan has been the owner of Ring of Honor since March 2022. Eric Bischoff recently stated the promotion should be put out of its misery.
