New Digital Media Champion 'Crowned' On IMPACT Wrestling

A new IMPACT Digital Media Champion crowned? Well, sort of....

A new Digital Media Champion was crowned on the June 9 edition of IMPACT Wrestling… sort of.

Despite losing the title to Rich Swann at a recent Wrestling Revolver event in May, Matt Cardona is in denial that a title switch occurred. Seeing as the ‘Thousand Dollar Broski’ is out injured with a torn bicep and unable to perform his duties as champion, he bequeathed the title to long-term tag partner Brian Myers.

However, although Cardona thinks he is a law unto himself, IMPACT management revealed that Myers and the actual lineal Digital Media Champion Rich Swann will face off at Slammiversary on June 19 to crown an undisputed Digital Media Champion.

With his win at Wrestling Revolver Vegas Vacation on May 28, Swann became the third person to hold the title, with Jordynne Grace crowned as the inaugural champion at Bound For Glory 2021 last October.

Cardona tore his bicep at GCW’s Downward Spiral show in a match against Blake Christian, the same night he dropped the Digital Media Championship to Swann.
