NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona has undergone successful surgery to repair a torn bicep.
Taking to Twitter, the ‘Thousand Dollar Broski’ posted the following:
“I’m out of surgery. The comeback begins now! I already ordered my leather jacket and denim vest. #StillHere #AlwayzReady” with Cardona referencing Triple H’s legendary comeback from a quad tear in 2002.
Cardona announced the injury last week, with his title defence against Nick Aldis at NWA Alwayz Ready on June 11 in jeopardy as a result, however Cardona had previously indicated that he’d still make the show, and gave a further update via a Twitter video:
“Just got home from surgery, fixing my torn bicep,” said Cardona. “And the first thing I thought about is this, my NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. And nothing is going to stop me from being in Knoxville, Tennessee, this Saturday for Alwayz Ready. My show, my pay-per-view. Now I don’t know what Billy Corgan’s gonna do. I don’t know what his decision’s going to be. I don’t know if I’m walking out of Alwayz Ready with the Ten Pounds of Gold. But I do know this. No matter what, I am the real Worlds Champion. And Nick, you know it, too.”
