Matt Cardona Provides Timetable On In-Ring Return Following Injury

Matt Cardona recently suffered a torn bicep

After sustaining a torn bicep at GCW Downward Spiral, Matt Cardona has given a timetable for his in-ring return.

Reports last week suggested that Cardona will require surgery to fix the tear, and during an appearance at the GCW C.O.S show in Atlantic City, New Jersey over the weekend, Cardona said he could be out of action from three to five months.

Cardona was set to wrestle at the GCW show in a number one contender's match against Blake Christian - the opponent Cardona suffered the injury against. Whilst Cardona tried to pull a fast one for a cheap victory, he ended up eating a superkick and taking the loss against Christian.

Arguably the hottest act on the Indies right now, the timing of Cardona’s injury could not be worse, with Cardona originally set to defend the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against Nick Aldis at Alwayz Ready on June 11. Whilst Cardona is reportedly still set to appear at the show, the status of the World Title bout is surely cancelled, whilst the very status of the title itself is up in the air at the time of writing.
