A new law firm have opened an investigation into WWE following Vince McMahon's retirement.
Glancy Prongay & Murray LLP, have announced they have commenced an investigation on behalf of WWE investors looking into "possible violations of federal securities laws." As with similar investigations, WWE investors are encouraged to contact the firm should they wish to pursue a claim.
Within a press release, GPM referred to WWE's falling stock price prior to Vince McMahon's retirement as well as the Wall Street Journal reports that revealed McMahon had paid millions to suppress allegations of infidelity and sexual misconduct since 2006.
The number of law firms investigating WWE has now reached 10. Some are looking into whether WWE directors and officers breached their fiduciary duties while others are looking into if WWE breached securities laws.
Vince McMahon announced his retirement as WWE Chairman and CEO on Friday, July 22, and the Wall Street Journal reported that his departure was hastened by new investigations from the SEC and federal prosecutors into the hush payments made by the 76-year-old.
