New Logo Revealed For WWE NXT

A new era for the developmental brand

A new logo was revealed for NXT on Friday night.

Rapper Wale tweeted out a video that concluded with a shot of the new logo, set to his the song "Down South". The logo was later revealed on Friday night's edition of SmackDown.

The logo change is part of a total overhaul of NXT, which was recently discussed by WWE President Nick Khan in an interview with Ariel Helwani.

Khan stated, ""We're doing a complete revamp on NXT, led by Triple H, Paul Levesque, who is really one of the architects of the original NXT. In terms of an NXT rebrand, look for it in the next couple of weeks. It's gonna have a whole new look, it's gonna have a whole new feel."

Based on recent reports, NXT and the Performance Center appear to be focusing more on young, larger athletes that can be trained to wrestle, instead of signing notable independent and international wrestlers.

Dave Meltzer wrote in this week's Wrestling Observer, "Several in the company have told us that the word from the top is no more independent talent as far as scouting and such (keep in mind no “no more” doctrine in wrestling really means that and guaranteed this will change in time) and that AEW can have all the independent talent to itself. They are back to the feeling of scouting by looks and not because guys have gotten over elsewhere and teaching people with the right look to be wrestlers."
