The newest member of Los Ingobernables de Japon was revealed at today's NJPW King of Pro Wrestling show in Tokyo.

One of New Japan's most popular stables, the group promised to reveal a sixth member at the event, having temporarily lost Hiromu Takahashi to injury.

The new member was revealed to be Shingo Takagi, a Dragon Gate veteran who made his professional wrestling debut in 2004. He has enjoyed many years of success with the promotion, including four reigns with the Open the Dream Gate Championship, Dragon Gate's top title.

Takagi joins BUSHI, EVIL, SANADA, Takahashi, and faction leader Tetsuya Naito in LIJ. Today, his New Japan debut saw him secure the pinfall in a four-on-four match against CHAOS, represented by Kazuchika Okada, SHO, YO, and Toru Yano.

Takagi was one of several names rumoured for the position before today's reveal, including Pentagon Jr. and Dragon Lee. He was trained by Animal Hamaguchi, the same man who trained Naito.

Despite previously being a Dragon Gate stalwart, Takagi has enjoyed a storied career in multiple promotions so far. He once captured the ROH World Tag Team Championship alongside Naruki Doi, won wXw's 16 Carat Gold Tournament in 2009, and reached the final of this year's Battle of Los Angeles in PWG.

It remains to be seen how Takagi will factor in the build up to Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th, but remaining matches on today's King of Pro Wrestling show will help shape some of the rest of the card. Kenny Omega defends his IWGP Heavyweight Championship against both Kota Ibushi and Cody Rhodes, Hiroshi Tanahashi defends his G1 briefcase against Jay White, and Marty Scurll faces KUSHIDA for the vacant IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
