A new TNT Champion has been crowned in All Elite Wrestling, with the title change occurring on the July 31 edition of AEW Collision.
Dustin Rhodes walked into the match as champion, putting the title on the line against Kyle Fletcher in a street fight. Unsurprisingly, the match became violent and bloody, with Rhodes at one point filling Fletcher’s trunks with thumbtacks before hitting the Unnatural Kick/Shattered Dreams, whilst Fletcher would repeatedly stab Rhodes in the knee with a screwdriver.
Fletcher continued to assault Rhodes knee, but ‘The Natural’ almost had things sewn up with a small package, only for ‘The Protostar’ to kick out, hit a running knee, then the Protoplex brainbuster for the win.
The win sees Fletcher hold AEW gold for the first time in his career, becoming the 17th TNT Champion in the title’s lineage. Fletcher had previously reigned as one half of the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions with Aussie Open partner Mark Davis in 2023, and had a run as ROH World TV Champion in 2023/2024.
For Rhodes, his first singles title run in AEW ends after 18 days, with the veteran winning the title as a last-minute decision at AEW All In Texas after Adam Cole relinquished the title due to injury.
