'New Whale Inc' Is The Current Company Name For The WWE & UFC Merger
WWE & UFC merger to be known as 'New Whale Inc' for the time being
Shortly after WWE’s huge WrestleMania 39 event, the professional wrestling world was rocked with massive news when WWE’s sale to Endeavor and the merger with UFC was announced. A SEC filing has revealed the name that the new publicly traded company will go by.
“The registrant is currently named New Whale Inc. The registrant plans to change its name to “[ ]” following the effective date of this registration statement and completion of the transactions described therein.”
The rest of the filing indicated that Endeavor would have the majority voting power, with The New Whale Inc board consisting of 6 people from Endeavor and 5 from WWE - with both Ari Emanuel and Vince McMahon as members. Elsewhere, it was also stated that those who currently hold stocks in WWE would receive a share of the new company’s stock for every one they presently hold. Although things have yet to be finalised, the expectation is currently that the purchase of WWE will be successfully completed before the year is closed. Although New Whale Inc is to be the name, this is thought to be just a placeholder name for the time being until something else is announced.
