Next Challenger For The IWGP World Heavyweight Title Revealed

Who will Jay White defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Title against?

Jay White's next challenger for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship has been revealed.

The Catalyst of Professional Wrestling was in action during the recent G1 Climax 32 tournament and White looked set to win his block with an undefeated record, only to lose his final block match to Tama Tonga. This meant Tama advanced to the semifinals and White was eliminated in the process.

Tonga ultimately did not win G1 Climax 32 but his victory over White has earned him a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Declaration Of Power event on October 10 at Ryogoku Sumo Hall. Tonga and White have had issues for much of 2022 since White kicked the Guerrillas Of Destiny out of Bullet Club.

White has been IWGP World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Kazuchika Okada for the gold at Dominion on June 12. He has defended the title once so far, defeating Okada, Adam Cole, and Hangman Page in a Four-Way at Forbidden Door.

Also set for Declaration Of Power is Kazuchika Okada vs. JONAH. The Rainmaker was ultimately the victor in G1 Climax 32 but he did suffer a shock loss to JONAH during the tournament and they will face off in a rematch on October 10. Okada's IWGP World Heavyweight Title shot at Wrestle Kingdom 17 won't be on the line, though.
