WWE fans weren't the only people who reacted with bemusement when Nia Jax made her return in September 2023.

Jax returned to WWE TV as part of Monday Night Raw and she immediately entered the Women's World Title picture, taking out Raquel Rodriguez and champion Rhea Ripley. Jax has since been presented as a dominant force, although she failed to capture the championship in a Fatal 5-Way at WWE Crown Jewel.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, there were "a couple of eye rolls" from WWE talent when Jax was re-signed. One of those talents has since changed their mind slightly, though, and has said that Jax's in-ring work has been "pretty good" since her comeback.

"As far as that one, it did get a couple of eye rolls from talent that I talked to for sure. That being said, at least one of those people that shot me those eye rolls have said, 'You know what? Her work's been pretty good since she came back. Nobody's gotten hurt. Looks like she's worked to get in a better shape and the like.' That's about the extent of information I have on that one," Sean Ross Sapp said during a Fightful Select Q&A.

Nia Jax developed a reputation for being an unsafe worker during her first WWE run, especially after she seriously injured Becky Lynch in late 2018.
