Nic Nemeth Dealing With Injury Leading Into TNA Slammiversary

Nic Nemeth heading into TNA Slammiversary with an injury

Nic Nemeth is heading into TNA Slammiversary on July 20 hoping to finally capture the TNA World Championship, but Nemeth will be doing so whilst banged up.

Nemeth announced that he is dealing with a partially torn labrum during the July 18 go-home edition of TNA IMPACT, but said despite his injury he has been cleared to compete and will still be performing in Slammiversary’s main event.

Despite being cleared for the match, Nemeth was not in attendance on IMPACT, as the other five competitors in the match - Joe Hendry, Frankie Kazarian, Steve Maclin, Josh Alexander, and TNA World Champion Moose - signed their contracts making the bout official.

Slammiversary will be Nemeth’s second shot at the gold, with Nemeth unsuccessfully challenging Moose at Rebellion in April. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion debuted with the company at Hard to Kill in January 2024, facing off with Moose after ‘The Wrestling God’ defeated Alex Shelley for the world title.

It is unclear when Nemeth picked up his injury, with his last TNA match coming in mid-June. Outside of TNA, Nemeth’s last match anywhere came on July 6, with a bout for indy promotion Flashback Pro.
