REVEALED: Why Jeff Hardy Will Be Absent From TNA Slammiversary

Jeff Hardy to miss TNA Slammiversary

Jeff Hardy won't be in action at Saturday night's Slammiversary pay-per-view after he was stretchered out of the arena on the July 18 edition of TNA IMPACT.

Jeff teamed with brother Matt Hardy on Thursday night as they challenged Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers of The System for the TNA World Tag Team Championships. The match ended in a DQ win for The Hardys, though, after JDC (Johnny Dango Curtis) interfered and pushed Jeff off the top turnbuckle, sending him plummeting to the floor below. The System then beat down Matt in the ring while JDC put Jeff's head inside a steel chair and threw him throat-first into the steel post.

The beatdown of Jeff then continued with The System getting involved before security eventually arrived. Hardy was then stretchered out of the venue, with TNA later announcing that Matt Hardy would have a singles match against JDC at Slammiversary.

Jeff Hardy was never actually advertised to wrestle at Slammiversary and Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted Hardy's past legal issues would likely prevent him from being able to enter Canada for the pay-per-view. Slammiversary will take place at the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal and over 4,000 fans are expected to be in attendance.

Hardy's legal issues would likely be related to his DUI arrest in the Summer of 2022. Hardy was arrested in Florida after driving erratically and a breathalyser test showed he was over three times above the legal limit. He later pleaded no contest to one count of DUI, one count of driving with a suspended/cancelled/revoked license, and one count of driving while his license was restricted.

Hardy hasn't wrestled in Canada since performing at a WWE live event in Vancouver in 2019.

Hardy has been back with TNA since the Against All Odds TNA+ special, making his return only hours after his deal with All Elite Wrestling expired
