Nick Aldis Now A Free Agent Following NWA Exit

Nick Aldis is on the free agent market

Nick Aldis is officially a free agent.

Aldis' contract with the National Wrestling Alliance expired at midnight on January 2 and he is no longer with the promotion, PWInsider reported. Aldis has yet to sign with another company, making him a free agent.

The 36-year-old had been the NWA's top star for the past several years and he held the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship for 1309 days over two reigns. He remained a top talent after dropping the belt for a second time in 2021 and challenged for the worlds title on multiple occasions.

Aldis had a bitter fallout with the NWA after The National Treasure announced he would be leaving the promotion. He was suspended by the NWA and pulled from the Hard Times pay-per-view. Aldis later called the NWA a "toxic brand" and he detailed why he left the company, noting the promotion became something he no longer wanted to be a part of

Where Aldis will go next remains to be seen but AEW were interested in signing him back in 2019.
