Nick Aldis Says It Is 'Heartbreaking' To See His NWA Work 'Undone'

The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion talks about rebuilding his confidence following a contentious exit from the promotion.

Speaking to Metro, IMPACT Wrestling's Nick Aldis has revealed that he has found it 'heartbreaking' to see a lot of his work in the NWA 'undone.' The British star left the NWA at the end of 2022, following a suspension for publicly criticising the direction of the promotion, and he has since rejoined IMPACT Wrestling, for whom he wrestled between 2008 and 2015.

Aldis - who was NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion for a combined 1309 days over two reigns between 2017 and 2021 - said the following:

"I did need a little bit of a mental break – because I did put a lot of pressure on myself. I’ll be honest, it was kinda heartbreaking to see a lot of my work get undone at the NWA. I needed bit of time to just process it and go 'Hey, what they decide to do now that you’re gone is none of your concern. Your body of work will live on through your fans and that’s it. You build this brand for yourself.' [Mickie James] was good at restoring that confidence in me as well."

There was reportedly interest in Nick Aldis from WWE earlier this year but the company has an unofficial hiring freeze in place.
