Nick Khan Reveals WWE Are Open To Returning To PPV Model

Could WWE revert back to making shows available only on PPV?

Pay-per-views as part of the WWE ecosystem has largely been a thing of the past since the company launched the WWE Network in February 2014, with the vast majority of WWE fans watching the organisation's biggest shows through Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally. Some do still order the shows on pay-per-view, though.

While WWE has largely moved away from trying to generate pay-per-view buys for their major shows, Nick Khan admitted during an appearance on the Marchand & Ourand Sports Media Podcast that WWE are open to introducing a similar model to that of ESPN and UFC for the MMA organisation's pay-per-views. The most important thing, though, was WWE not pricing out their fans and he cited seats in the upper decks of SoFi Stadium for WrestleMania 39 were $25.

Nick Khan also discussed WWE's relationship with Peacock, revealing the streaming platform's executives have said a "substantial" amount of their 20 million paid subscribers is because of WWE.

WrestleMania 39 is available on pay-per-view in the United Kingdom from BT Sport Box Office for £19.95. Alternatively, fans can subscribe to the WWE Network for £9.99 per month.
