Nick Wayne Makes AEW Dynamite Debut

AEW Dynamite saw Nick Wayne finally make his in-ring debut for the company

17 months since signing his All Elite Wrestling contract, teenage wrestling sensation Nick Wayne finally made his AEW in-ring debut on the July 12 edition of Dynamite.

Wayne took on Swerve Strickland in his debut match, and despite Strickland getting the win with the JML Driver, Wayne more than held his own, with the former DEFY World Champion coming close to a victory after an avalanche Poison Frankensteiner into crisp springboard cutter.

Strickland did not hold back when wrestling the 18-year-old, hitting Wayne with everything he had as Wayne’s mentor Darby Allin watched on from the ramp. Allin was not only there to cheer Wayne on, as he was also keeping a close eye on Strickland and Prince Nana after the two conspired to cost him and Orange Cassidy their Blind Eliminator Tournament Semi-Final earlier in the night.

After the match, Tony Khan officially welcomed Wayne onto the roster with the customary ‘All Elite’ Tweet, with Wayne simply Tweeting; “What a night. Thank you everyone.
