Spoiler: Absent AEW Star Returns At Rampage Taping

An absent AEW star made their return at the latest Rampage tapings

All Elite Wrestling held their latest round of Rampage tapings on July 12, with a long absent AEW star making their return on the show.

On Rampage - set to air on July 14 - Lance Archer made his in-ring return for the company, stepping foot into an AEW ring for the first time since March.

Archer defeated Best Friends’ Trent Beretta in singles action, then laid out Chuck Taylor post-match. Archer and handler Jake Roberts then challenged AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy for a title match at the upcoming Battle of the Belts TV special, with ‘The Murderhawk Monster’ adding that if Cassidy didn’t come out there and then that Best Friends were ‘going to die’.

Cassidy came out to accept Archer’s challenge, escaping without harm after Jake Roberts convinced Archer to not hit OC with a chokeslam. Looks like the two will indeed clash at Battle of the Belts VII on July 15.

Archer has spent the majority of 2023 wrestling across the Indies and in NJPW. Archer himself seemed to signify a return to AEW was coming, after responding to CM Punk’s comments about ‘soft’ members of the locker room in June.
