The 2018 Women's Royal Rumble match was very much a celebration of the past, present, and future of Women's wrestling in WWE. WWE Hall Of Famers Lita, Trish Stratus, Torrie Wilson, and Jacqueline all entered the match, as did current stars like Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and eventual winner Asuka.

As The Empress Of Tomorrow celebrated in the ring, however, Ronda Rousey made her long-anticipated debut in WWE. The former UFC fighter then headed to the ring, pointed at the WrestleMania sign a lot, and walked back up the ramp. The next day, all anybody was talking about was The Rowdy One's appearance at the pay-per-view.

At the time, Nikki Bella took issue with Rousey debuting after the match and she again commented on the incident in The Bella Twins autobiography Incomparable

The former Divas champion wrote: "It was nothing against Ronda - it is thrilling that she is at WWE - but it was a bit of a slap in the face to all the historic women wrestlers who had come out for the match, the main event, only to have the moment upstaged by the Ronda announcement. It just didn't need to happen like that."
