NJPW Resurgence Announced For Los Angeles In August

NJPW returns to the States for the first time since February 2020

New Japan Pro Wrestling have announced their first event in the United States for over a year.

NJPW Resurgence will be presented from Los Angeles at The Torch at L.A. Coliseum, which is a new concert venue set to open this summer. The event has been scheduled for Sunday 14 August.

The show will be the first time that NJPW have presented a ticketed show on American soil since The New Beginning in USA tour event in Georgia on February 1, 2020, a show that was headlined by Guerrillas of Destiny - Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa - defeating Juice Robinson and David Finlay for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

IWGP United States champion Jon Moxley is among the talent advertised for the show, while Shota Umino is also set to return to NJPW for the event having departed in September 2019.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Wednesday, June 30. The venue's website has attendance capacity for The Torch listed at 5,000 with the possibility to expand to 10,000.

FITE TV and NJPW World will broadcast the event live.
