NJPW's New Japan Cup 2020 Day 2 Results

The New Japan Cup 2020 kicked off yesterday with the first four matches from the left bracket. The results went as many fans expected as Hiromu Takahashi defeated Tomoaki Honma, Toru Yano vanquished Jado, Togi Makabe conquered Yota Tsuji, and Tomohiro Ishii outlasted El Desperado. 

The second half of the left bracket took place earlier today and New Japan fans were shocked as Minoru Suzuki was eliminated from the tournament after Yuji Nagata connected with a Belly To Back Suplex. Kazuchika Okada also defeated his former manager Gedo while Gabriel Kidd bowed out of the cup with a loss to Taiji Ishimori. Yoshinobu Kanemaru also outlasted Yuya Uemura.

• Yoshinobu Kanemaru def. Yuya Uemura
• Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Roppongi 3K def. BUSHI, SANADA, EVIL & Shingo Takagi 
• Yuji Nagata def. Minoru Suzuki
• Kazuchika Okada def. Gedo 

The right bracket will kick off next week on June 22 and June 23. The second round will then begin on June 24.

The confirmed second-round matches are as follows:  
• Togi Makabe vs. Tomohiro Ishii
• Toru Yano vs. Hiromu Takahashi
• Kazuchika Okada vs. Yuji Nagata
• Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Taiji Ishimori
