NJPW's New Japan Cup 2020 Day 5 Results

The first round of the New Japan Cup 2020 concluded yesterday and a number of matchups were widely praised by fans including Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki, Kota Ibushi vs. Zack Sabre Jr., Tomohiro Ishii vs. El Desperado, and Hiromu Takahashi vs. Tomoaki Honma. The first 16 matches even threw up a few surprises as Nagata vanquished Suzuki in their 11th encounter and SHO outlasted Shingo Takagi. 

The second round kicked off earlier today as Togi Makabe and Tomohiro Ishii looked to destroy each another, Taiji Ishimori faced Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Hiromu Takahashi went one on one with Toru Yano and two former IWGP Heavyweight Champions clashed as Kazuchika Okada battled Yuji Nagata.

New Japan will return on July 1 with four more second-round matches. They are as follows:

• EVIL vs. Hirooki Goto
