NJPW's Taichi Reveals He Tested Positive For COVID-19

The Suzuki-gun man also tested positive

New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Taichi announced today that he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.

The Suzuki-gun man was one of nine wrestlers to test positive around Wrestling Dontaku, he revealed during today's Road To Wrestle Grand Slam event (via Tokyo Sports).

Taichi was a guest commentator at the show and he noted he felt ill after returning to Tokyo following Wrestling Dontaku. He had a fever of 39 degrees celsius, but didn't suffer a loss of taste nor fatigue and he spent much of his time playing video games on his PS5 over the next week.

The former IWGP Tag Team Champion noted he is now feeling better, but he decided to sit out NJPW's current shows following advice from Zack Sabre Jr. ZSJ has instead teamed with DOUKI on the Road To Wrestle Grand Slam shows.

Five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada also revealed recently that he tested positive for coronavirus following Wrestling Dontaku. Fit Finlay also noted his son David and Jay White are in quarantine.
