Will Ospreay has tested positive for COVID-19.
RevPro announced Ospreay is suffering from mild symptoms and is fully vaccinated. As a result of the positive test, The Commonwealth Kingpin has been pulled from RevPro's shows on September 4 and September 5.
RevPro tweeted: "Will Ospreay has tested positive for Covid-19. He is fully vaccinated, only has mild symptoms & is otherwise healthy. He will be following protocols and will be out of this weekends shows. He is still expected to be able to compete at September 19th's High Stakes."
Speaking about his positive test, Ospreay said: "I'm sure I'll be back in no time so other than that, I hope everyone is well. I can't go to the RevPro shows this weekend, so unfortunately, you'll have to deal with only really good wrestling, not the best wrestling, because the best wrestler is currently battling COVID. I'm going to beat COVID and why? Because I am on another level."
Ospreay was scheduled to be in action twice at RevPro's weekend shows. He was set to face Brendan White in Sheffield on September 4 before Live At The Cockpit 53 where Ospreay would have teamed with The Young Guns against White, Ricky Knight Jr. and Doug Williams.
Ospreay's positive COVID-19 test comes two weeks after he returned to NJPW at Resurgence on August 14 in Los Angeles, California. He had previously been out of action since May with a neck injury and was stripped of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship by New Japan.
