NJPW STRONG Women's Champion Willow Nightingale Wants To Defend Title In AEW

Willow Nightingale wants to defend NJPW STRONG Title on Dynamite

AEW’s Willow Nightingale has had a big week after she sensationally defeated Mercedes Moné at the NJPW Resurgence PPV to become the first ever NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion. Although plans changed due to an injury mid-match to Moné, there has been a positive reception to Nightingale’s victory. The new champion spoke on Busted Open Radio and made her intentions and desires clear.

“Tony (Khan) knows what’s in the works for AEW and what Dynamite will look like next week. I would love to be included in that and be able to show a fun championship [New Japan Strong Women's] match. I was very happy to at least say my peace and have a little hurrah. Walking into the locker room and having everyone say, ‘Hey, champ!’ is something that takes a minute to get used to. I do it with a smile and say ‘thank you.”

Whether anything will come of Nightingale’s wishes to compete on Dynamite remains to be seen, particularly with the promotion already featuring a whole host of different title belts right now.
