NJPW Vs. NOAH Set For Night 3 Of Wrestle Kingdom 16

A historic event coming in 2022

At a press conference held Friday, NJPW President Takami Ohbari and CyberFight (parent company of Pro Wrestling NOAH) director Akihiro Takeda affirmed that the third night of Wrestle Kingdom 16 will feature talents from both New Japan and NOAH.

Names confirmed for the event include Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Shingo Takagi from New Japan, and Kaito Kiyomiya, Keiji Muto and Katsuhiko Nakajima from NOAH.

No matches have been confirmed for the third night as of yet.

The third night of Wrestle Kingdom 16 will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 3 am EST. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit the Japanese Red Cross.

Ohbari was quoted on NJPW's Global Twitter account as saying, "The match card is yet to be announced. NJPW and NOAH wrestlers have their own histories and backgrounds. It's up to them whether they want to face off, or even join together...

This is a rare opportunity, and it would be a somewhat of a waste not to have the two companies face off across the whole card."

So far, the only matches confirmed for Wrestle Kingdom are World Heavyweight champion Takagi facing Okada on night one, while the winner defends against Will Ospreay on night two.
