The wrestling world rejoiced when Cody Rhodes finally won the big one at WrestleMania XL, with the ‘American Nightmare’ finishing the story by defeating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Night Two.

Rhodes is clearly ‘the man’ in WWE right now, but a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that Rhodes may not walk into 2025’s WrestleMania XLI as the champion.

Current plans for the event are scheduled to lead to Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock, with Rock himself believed to be angling for a ‘WWE Champion vs. People’s Champion’ main event, with Rock having been given a physical People’s Title during the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Some in WWE have allegedly noted that ‘there is no guarantee’ that Cody will be champion around Mania, meaning that a match just for Rock’s title could be possible.

Again, many things can change from now until WrestleMania 41, and these are currently just ‘plans’. WrestleMania 41 is set for Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on April 19 and April 20, 2025.
