WWE Plans For King & Queen Of The Ring Main Event Revealed

WWE King & Queen of the Ring main event plans revealed

WWE are currently running the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments, with the tournaments set to conclude at the eponymous premium live event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25.

Outside of the planned tournament finals, only two matches have been announced for the show, and in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer suggests that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will be headlining the show, with WWE sources indicating that the opponent should ‘start being built imminently’ as the show is in a little over two weeks.

The Undisputed WWE Championship won’t be the only title on the line at King & Queen of the Ring, with Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch set to put the title up against Liv Morgan, whilst Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn will face Bronson Reed and Chad Gable in a triple threat title match.

Whilst the upcoming show will be the first King & Queen of the Ring PLE, the show will be the first since the last King of the Ring pay-per-view in 2002, whilst a WWE online exclusive King of the Ring show aired in 2015. Subsequent King of the Ring tournaments in 2019 and 2021 did not conclude at a gimmick-exclusive PPV or PLE.
