WWE NXT featured Randy Orton in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri on Tuesday night as the 14-time world champion faced off with Je'Von Evans.

Orton and Evans went 11 minutes in their match and the 20-year-old went for a Cutter from the top rope in the closing moments with the idea that Orton would hit him with an RKO out of nowhere while Evans was in mid-air. The spot ultimately didn't come together, however, due to Evans over-rotating and he and Orton ended up missing each other.

Orton quickly drew attention away from the botch, picking up Evans and hitting him with an RKO on the mat for the victory.

Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has reported that Orton and Evans extensively rehearsed their spot ahead of NXT. There was no heat on Je'Von over the botched RKO.

Other major moments from Tuesday night's WWE NXT included Stephanie Vaquer's full debut and a title change as Tony D'Angelo defeated Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship.

WWE NXT talent are still stuck in St. Louis as they are unable to travel back to Florida due to Hurricane Milton. NXT's upcoming house shows in St. Petersburg and Orlando have also been postponed until later this year.
