One of the biggest stories coming out of the AEW Redemption 2026 PPV was the emergence of reports that AEW’s tribute to the Rougeaus didn’t quite go to plan. After Jacques Rougeau offered up a video package he created, which featured the use of AI and footage that AEW didn’t have the rights to, those in AEW rejected its use on the Redemption Buy-In. In the aftermath, reports emerged of a “tantrum” thrown by Rougeau, with him being threatened with being kicked out if he didn’t calm down.
The latest update in this story has emerged on the part of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. After Rougeau had claimed in the aftermath that there was no issue and Redemption, downplaying ideas of a tantrum, it is noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there are no issues between both Rougeau and AEW, even after the incident. It is further stated that security in the building at the time were aware of an issue before things were sorted out.
The report also states that the Bell Centre in Monreal, Quebec, Canada has a policy that if you’re kicked out from the building then you’re kicked out for good, which is why security were alerted and with everyone involved not wanting things to escalate to that.
