NWA Crowns New Champions At Crockett Cup

New champions crowned at NWA Crockett Cup

The National Wrestling Alliance held their Crockett Cup pay-per-view on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20 in Nashville, Tennessee, and two new champions were crowned on night two.

The promotion reintroduced the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship on Sunday's event and Homicide defeated Austin Aries, Darius Lockhart, and Colby Corino in a Four-Way to win the vacant title.

The title had previously been defunct since Billy Corgan purchased the NWA in 2017.

A new NWA National Champion was also crowned at the Crockett Cup as Jax Dane defeated Anthony Mayweather.

The champion initially retained the gold over Dane but the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion attacked Mayweather following the match and cashed in his Champions Series title shot for an immediate rematch.

Dane then went on to win the rematch to begin his second reign as NWA National Champion.

Elsewhere on the show, Matt Cardona retained the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title against Nick Aldis after special guest referee Jeff Jarrett disqualified the challenger because he believed Mickie James had Low Blowed him. Chelsea Green had actually attacked Jarrett, though, which caused the Crockett Cup to end with a Dusty Finish as Aldis initially believed he had won the gold.
