Omari Palmer - the wrestler formerly known as Odyssey Jones in WWE - filed a defamation lawsuit against his former partner on January 20 in Orange County, Florida, POST Wrestling has reported.

Palmer has accused his former partner of libel and slander, claiming that she falsely accused him of physically abusing her which led to his firing by WWE. Palmer's former partner has been identified as Meileth Nunez, who noted to POST Wrestling that she is comfortable being identified.

Palmer's lawsuit alleges that Nunez's claims of battery were false, malicious, and directly resulted in his firing by WWE. The lawsuit claims that Nunez made false allegations in "both written and verbal communications to TKO Group and various news outlets." Palmer's lawsuit also alleges that Nunez's statements were "maliciously made with actual knowledge of the statements’ falsity." Palmer is seeking $50,000 in damages.

Nunez accused Palmer of battery following an incident in May 2024. A police report filed on May 23, 2024 with the Maitland Police Department noted that Nunez alleged Palmer threw items, grabbed her, and slammed her to the floor twice after he became "extremely angry" upon discovering text messages she had sent to another man. The police report included photos of bruises on Nunez's shoulders and legs and the reporting officer requested for charges of one count of battery to be filed against Palmer. The case was still under review as of January 2025.

Palmer, within the police report, denied that he threw objects at his ex-partner and was physically violent towards her. He instead claimed that he was upset and threw objects around the apartment.

Nunez denied making false statements in her response to the lawsuit on February 24. She also provided excerpts from a letter she allegedly sent to Palmer's attorney which stated that "investigative findings from TKO concluded there was probable cause for [Palmer's] termination based on his conduct." The letter also claims that Palmer misled his previous attorney who represented the former WWE talent when he was granted a protection order against Nunez.

"This is yet another example of Mr. Palmer attempting to distort the truth in order to control the narrative and avoid accountability. The timing of this lawsuit suggests a clear retaliatory motive. Mr. Palmer never pursued legal actions against me until after he was terminated," Nunez told POST Wrestling.

Omari Palmer was a part of WWE from 2019 until his firing in September 2024. He was released by the company only one month after his main roster debut due to a domestic violence allegation.
