Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson Signs With WWE

Confirmed by himself on Twitter Saturday

US Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has signed with WWE, as confirmed by Steveson himself on Twitter Saturday.

Steveson simply wrote, "Just put pen to paper." Dave Meltzer later confirmed that Steveson has indeed signed with WWE.

No start date or other details have been given about Steveson's signing, nor has it been said whether or not the 21-year-old will finish out his enrollment at the University of Minnesota.

Steveson was in attendance at SummerSlam in Las Vegas on August 21, and had appeared at other prior WWE events.

Earlier this Summer, Steveson won the gold medal in freestyle wrestling in the superheavyweight division at the Tokyo Games, managing to outscore reigning World champion Geno Petriashvili just as time expired.

Steveson is also a two-time All-American at Minnesota, and won two Big Ten Conference championships.

Steveson holds a record of 35-6 as a freestyle wrestler, and has not lost a match in over two years. His overall collegiate record is 67-2, and has not been defeated at the NCAA level since March of 2019.
