Opponent For Jon Moxley's First AEW World Championship Defence Revealed

Who will step up and face The Maestro Of Mayhem...

It emerged last week that All Elite Wrestling had started to tape some of their programming because of the coronavirus pandemic. Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy's confrontation on last week's episode of Dynamite was taped the day before the show, then reshot during the broadcast. Lance Archer's debut match has also reportedly been filmed.

Jon Moxley was also seemingly involved at the most recent tapings as AEW Commentator Jim Ross accidentally let slip on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Maestro Of Mayhem's first AEW World Championship defence took place on March 25.

The champion is set to continue his feud with The Inner Circle as he went one on one with Jake Hager. Ross admitted he did not know the result of the match, only that he had heard "it was pretty extraordinary."

Good Ol' JR said: "I heard they taped a hell of a match. Did you hear they taped a match with Moxley and Swagger or Hager? I heard it was pretty extraordinary. I haven't seen it, I don't know anything about the outcome or nothing like that but I heard from a small handful of guys literally that were there that it was quite the one on one match."

While Moxley and Hager have previously brawled with each other, their feud has intensified in recent weeks after the Bellator star Powerbombed the champion off the AEW stage. Then, on last week's episode of Dynamite, the pair went toe to toe as Moxley got the better of his future challenger, sending him scurrying to the back.
